Rapture Verses:
John 14:1-3
Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In
My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have
told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there
you may be also.
1 Corinthians 15 1:53
The Fact of Christ’s Resurrection
Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which
also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if
you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that
Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was
buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared
to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until
now, but some have fallen asleep; then He appeared to James, then to
all the apostles; and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to
me also. For I am the least of the apostles, and not fit to be called
an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace
of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I
labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with
me. Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.
Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do
some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there
is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ
has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain.
Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified
against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead
are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been
raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are
still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have
perished. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men
most to be pitied.
The Order of Resurrection
But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those
who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection
of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are
Christ’s at His coming, then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom
to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and
power. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet.
The last enemy that will be abolished is death. For HE HAS PUT ALL THINGS
IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET. But when He says, “All things are put in subjection,”
it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him.
When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected
to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.
Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead
are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them? Why are we also
in danger every hour? I affirm, brethren, by the boasting in you which I have
in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. If from human motives I fought with
wild beasts at Ephesus, what does it profit me?
If the dead are not raised, LET US EAT AND DRINK, FOR TOMORROW WE DIE. Do
not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” Become sober-minded
[j]as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak
this to your shame.
But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body
do they come?” You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it
dies; and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but
a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else.
But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body
of its own. All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh
of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another
of fish. There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory
of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another. There is
one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of
the stars; for star differs from star in glory.
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it
is raised an imperishable body; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in
glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural
body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is
also a spiritual body. So also it is written, “The first (MAN, Adam,
BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However,
the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. The
first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.
As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly,
so also are those who are heavenly. Just as we have borne the image of the
earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.
The Mystery of Resurrection
Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom
of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold, I
tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet
will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put
on immortality.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep,
so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. For if
we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him
those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word
of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord,
will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself
will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and
with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we
who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Romans 8: 19
For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing
of the sons of God.
1 Corinthians 1:7-8
so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation
of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, blameless
in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 16:22
If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be accursed. Maranatha.
Phil 3:20-21
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a
Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble
state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the
power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.
Colossians 3:4
When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed
with Him in glory.
1 Thessalonians 1:10
And to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that
is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.
1 Thessalonians 2:19
For who is our hope or joy or crown of exultation? Is it not even you, in
the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming?
1 Thessalonians 5:9
For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through
our Lord Jesus Christ,
1 Thessalonians 5:23
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit
and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-3
Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ and our gathering together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken from
your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter
as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one
in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first,
and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
1 Timothy 6:14
That you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Titus 2:13
Looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great
God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
Hebrews 9:28
So Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will
appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who
eagerly await Him.
James 5:7-9
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer
waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until
it gets the early and late rains. You too be patient; strengthen your hearts,
for the coming of the Lord is near. Do not complain, brethren, against
one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge
is standing right at the door.
1 Peter 1:7-13
So that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is
perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise
and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; and though you
have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe
in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining
as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.
As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would
come to you made careful searches and inquiries, seeking to know what person
or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the
sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. It was revealed to them that
they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have
been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the
Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look.
Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your
hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus
Christ.
1 John 2: 28-32
Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have
confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. If you know
that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness
is born of Him.
Jude 1:21
Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our
Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
Revelations 2:25
Nevertheless what you have, hold fast until I come.
Revelations 3:10
Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you
from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole
world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
Second Coming Verses
Daniel 2:44-45
In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which
will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people;
it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure
forever. Inasmuch as you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without
hands and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the
gold, the great God has made known to the king what will take place in the
future; so the dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy.”
Daniel 7:9-14
The Ancient of Days Reigns
“I kept looking
Until thrones were set up,
And the Ancient of Days took His seat;
His vesture was like white snow
And the hair of His head like pure wool.
His throne was ablaze with flames,
Its wheels were a burning fire.
“A river of fire was flowing
And coming out from before Him;
Thousands upon thousands were attending Him,
And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him;
The court sat,
And the books were opened.
Then I kept looking because of the sound of the boastful words which the
horn was speaking; I kept looking until the beast was slain, and its body
was destroyed and given to the burning fire. As for the rest of the
beasts, their dominion was taken away, but an extension of life was granted
to them for an appointed period of time.
The Son of Man Presented
“I kept looking in the night visions,
And behold, with the clouds of heaven
One like a Son of Man was coming,
And He came up to the Ancient of Days
And was presented before Him.
“And to Him was given dominion,
Glory and a kingdom,
That all the peoples, nations and men of every language
Might serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
Which will not pass away;
And His kingdom is one
Which will not be destroyed.
Daniel 12:1-3
The Time of the End
“Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over
the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress
such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that
time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued.
Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting
life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt. Those who have
insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven,
and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.
Zechariah 14: 1-15
God Will Battle Jerusalem’s Foes
Behold, a day is coming for the LORD when the spoil taken from you will
be divided among you. For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem
to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women
ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not
be cut off from the city. Then the LORD will go forth and fight against
those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle. In that day His
feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on
the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to
west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward
the north and the other half toward the south. You will flee by the
valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel;
yes, you will flee just as you fled before the earthquake in the days of
Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD, my God, will come, and all the holy
ones with Him!
In that day there will be no light; the luminaries will dwindle. For it
will be a unique day which is known to the LORD, neither day nor night, but
it will come about that at evening time there will be light.
And in that day living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, half of them toward
the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea; it will be in summer
as well as in winter.
God Will Be King over All
And the LORD will be king over all the earth; in that day the LORD will
be the only one, and His name the only one.
All the land will be changed into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem;
but Jerusalem will rise and remain on its site from Benjamin’s Gate as far
as the place of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel
to the king’s wine presses. People will live in it, and there will no longer
be a curse, for Jerusalem will dwell in security.
Now this will be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the peoples
who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they stand
on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue
will rot in their mouth. It will come about in that day that a great
panic from the LORD will fall on them; and they will seize one another’s
hand, and the hand of one will be lifted against the hand of another. Judah
also will fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the surrounding nations
will be gathered, gold and silver and garments in great abundance. So also
like this plague will be the plague on the horse, the mule, the camel, the
donkey and all the cattle that will be in those camps.
Matthew 13:41
The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His
kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness,
Matthew 24:15-31
Perilous Times
“Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken
of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place let the reader
understand), then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. Whoever
is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his
house. Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.
But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in
those days! But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a
Sabbath. For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not
occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. Unless
those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the
sake of the elect those days will be cut short. Then if anyone says to you,
‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘There He is,’ do not believe him.
For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs
and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have
told you in advance. So if they say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the wilderness,’
do not go out, or, ‘Behold, He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe them.
For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west,
so will the coming of the Son of Man be. Wherever the corpse is, there the
vultures will gather.
The Glorious Return
“But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED,
AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky,
and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then the sign of the Son
of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn,
and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power
and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET
and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end
of the sky to the other.
Matthew 26:64
Jesus said to him, “You have said it yourself; nevertheless I tell you,
hereafter you will see THE SON OF MAN SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF POWER,
and COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN.”
Mark 13: 14-27
“But when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION standing where it should
not be (let the reader understand), then those who are in Judea must flee
to the mountains. The one who is on the housetop must not go down, or go in
to get anything out of his house; and the one who is in the field must
not turn back to get his coat. But woe to those who are pregnant and
to those who are nursing babies in those days! But pray that it may
not happen in the winter. For those days will be a time of tribulation such
as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created
until now, and never will. Unless the Lord had shortened those days,
no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose,
He shortened the days. And then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here
is the Christ’; or, ‘Behold, He is there’; do not believe him; for
false Christs and false prophets will arise, and will show signs and wonders,
in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect. But take heed; behold,
I have told you everything in advance.
The Return of Christ
“But in those days, after that tribulation, THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED
AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL BE FALLING from
heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. Then they
will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN CLOUDS with great power and glory. And
then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His [f]elect
from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end
of heaven.
Mark 14:62
And Jesus said, “I am; and you shall see THE SON OF MAN SITTING AT THE RIGHT
HAND OF POWER, and COMING WITH THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN.”
Luke 21:25-28
The Return of Christ
“There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay
among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men
fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon
the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see
THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD with power and great glory. But when these
things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because
your redemption is drawing near.”
Acts 1:9-11
The Ascension
And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking
on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And as they were gazing intently
into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood
beside them. They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into
the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come
in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”
Acts 3:19-21
Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order
that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; and
that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive
until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the
mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.
1 Thessalonians 3:13
So that He may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our
God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.
2 Thessalonians 1:6-10
For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who
afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well
when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in
flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to
those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty
of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory
of His power, when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and
to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was
believed.
2 Thessalonians 2:8
Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the
breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;
2 Peter 3:1-14
Purpose of This Letter
This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you in which I am
stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, that you should remember
the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the
Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles.
Jude 14-15
It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam,
prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy
ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all
their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the
harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
Revelations 1:7
BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those
who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it
is to be. Amen.
Revelations 19:11
The Coming of Christ
And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it
is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.
His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has
a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with
a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies
which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following
Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He
may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and
He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on
His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD
OF LORDS.”
Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice,
saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, “Come, assemble for the great
supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders
and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on
them and the flesh of all men, both free men and slaves, and small and great.”
And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled
to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
Doom of the Beast and False Prophet
And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the
signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark
of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive
into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.
Revelations 20:6
Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over
these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of
Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.
Revelations 22:7
“And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words
of the prophecy of this book.”
Revelations 22:12-20
“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every
man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right
to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Outside are
the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and
the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.
I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches.
I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.”
And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water
of life without cost.
I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book:
if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written
in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of
this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from
the holy city, which are written in this book.
He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen.
Come, Lord Jesus.
